Why an AI agent saying “you’re booked” is not enough
How to distinguish a booking claim from a verified appointment and avoid false passes.
The claim is only the beginning
A transcript can contain a confident confirmation even when a tool call failed or a calendar write never happened. Treat the statement as a claim to investigate, not a successful result.
Compare before and after
Record the calendar baseline before the conversation. Otherwise an appointment that already existed may be mistaken for a new booking. For reschedules, require the intended change in time and preserve the correct customer and service.
Match the full appointment
Check start time and time zone, duration, staff, service and customer identity. Require exactly the intended number of matching appointments. Partial matches and tentative events need review or failure according to the agreed contract.
Make cleanup part of the test
Use an isolated test calendar and tag synthetic bookings by run. Cleanup should remove only that run’s fixtures. A cleanup error is visible operational work, not a reason to erase the original booking evidence.
